Neil Timbers Biography
THE TOWER
Neil has been writing and recording music for many years, not only in the trance/dance music genre but also in a more laid back, chilled out style, even having some of the more ambient tunes picked up and played on radio 4! His first real taste of life in a band and all that that involves was with a 4 piece synth outfit under the name of 'The Tower'. They gigged and recorded extensively for many years, and this was the bedrock of experience in songwriting, producing, recording and live performance that he has built on over the years. More info on this band can be found at www.thetower-music.com.
REDFORD
From there he moved more into the Dj scene playing out and about in club land, although he was never really fully comfortable with being away from the studio and songwriting environment which he loves so much. After this venture he joined another band called 'redford', a trio consisting Lisa Redford - guitar, vocals. Richard Lee - guitar, harmonica and vocals, and Neil on keyboards and production. They gigged and wrote together for a couple of years, notably warming up for the Sneaker Pimps on their tour. More info on Redford can be found at www.myspace.com/redfordmusic.
Digital Pilots
After leaving Redford Neil got heavily into the the uk trance scene, writing and producing tunes in his studio, which is where Digital Pilots really have their origins after Neil and Matt met in the London club 'Turnmills' in 2001. From this initial meeting they decided to have a go at writing together and from this was born the songwriting partnership that is Digital Pilots.
